Who handles your data
Data controller: Ugo Raffaele Piemontese, www.ugopiemontese.eu
tradius is a free service that puts nearby trading card players in touch.
What data we handle
The email you sign in with, used to send you the sign-in link and code.
Your nickname, optional bio and preferences (language, search radius).
Your approximate area: a hexagonal cell about 1.2 km across. We never store your exact position: the coordinates of your device or of the town you search are rounded and discarded right away.
The listings you publish: the cards you offer and the ones you want, with language, condition, price and notes.
The contacts you choose to add (WhatsApp, Telegram, email).
The game stores you say you go to, five at most.
The last time you published or changed a listing.
The people you block and the reports you make, with the reason and the details you write.
The notifications you get when a listing nearby matches one of yours, your choice to get or not the email that sums them up, and the day it was last sent.
If you register a store or ask to manage one: the store’s details and the text you leave us so that we can verify you.
Your confirmations of age (at least 14) and of the terms, with date and version.
What others see
Your active listings are public: anyone can see them, even without an account, with your nickname, the name of your area (for example “Bologna · Centro”) and a rounded distance. Nobody sees your cell or any coordinates, and players never appear on the maps.
Your contacts are shown only to people with an account who ask for them from one of your listings. Each person can see the contacts of at most 40 different players in 24 hours, and we keep a log of who saw whose contacts.
The name of a store you go to appears on your listings only to players who go to the same one. A store’s manager sees you among their players only if you choose so: in that case they see your nickname, your area, how many active listings you have and the day you were last active.
When a nearby offer matches a want, the player who wants the card gets a notification with the nickname and rounded distance of the one who offers it; the one who offers gets one about the player who wants it, if they are within their radius.
For cities with at least five players we publish overall numbers (how many players, offers and wants there are within 25 km of the centre) and the offers nearest to the centre, with the nickname and area of who published them. Card pages say how many players offer and want the card, and in which of these cities.
Public pages may show up in search engines, the pages of cities included. The pages of single listings ask search engines not to index them.
A block works both ways: neither of you sees the other’s listings and contacts any more. The people you block or report are not told.
Reports are read by whoever administers tradius. People who ask to manage a store are verified by hand: the administrator reads the text they left and sees the email they sign in with.
A store’s details (name, address, exact position and, once verified, logo, website, phone and Instagram) are public: it is a business open to the public.
Why
To provide the service you asked for by signing up: showing you nearby cards and players, telling you when a listing matches one of yours and letting others reach you (performance of a contract).
To keep the service safe and prevent abuse, such as scraping contacts: this is what the log of contact requests, blocks and reports are for (legitimate interest).
Where and with whom
Data is stored by Supabase on servers in the European Union: the database, sign-in and the stores’ logos.
Emails leave from the controller’s mailbox, at their mail provider: the sign-in link and, unless you turn it off, an email that sums up your new matches, one a day at most. You can turn it off from your profile or from the link at the bottom of every email.
To look up your area we send MapTiler the text you search or the centre of your cell, never your exact position. For a store we send its address.
Maps come from OpenFreeMap’s servers: your browser downloads them directly, so they see your IP address and the part of the map you look at.
Card images and symbols come from Scryfall’s servers: your browser downloads them directly.
We do not sell your data and do not use targeted advertising.
Cookies
We only use technical cookies: the sign-in session, the language and, when you choose where to search from without saving an area, the one that remembers the area you chose (a cell of about 1 km and its name, never the coordinates) until you close the browser.
The light or dark theme and your last choice between offering and wanting are stored only in your browser.
How long
As long as your account is active. When you ask to delete it, your listings and contacts disappear for everyone at once; your data stays in the database for another 30 days, visible only to whoever administers tradius, so that you can think again by signing in and to protect you from a deletion you did not want. Then we delete it for good; reports you made or that concern you remain in anonymous form.
A listing you delete disappears for everyone right away and stays in the database for another 30 days, visible only to whoever administers tradius; then it is deleted for good.
The log of who saw whose contacts is kept for 30 days: it enforces the daily limit and helps against the mass collection of contacts.
Blocks stay until you remove them. Notifications stay as long as both listings they are about exist.
The area you search from without an account is not stored: it lives only in the cookie described above.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete and port your data, object to its processing, and complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
From your profile you can download a copy of your data and delete your account.
